Meet the Directors
BRETT HUBER - Day Camp Director
This is Brett's fifth year to direct Camp Briarwood's Day Camp. He was born in Richmond, VA and raised there and in Johnson City, TN. Brett has lived in Birmingham since 1993. He and his wife, Patty, have five children.
Brett has a Masters of Science in Education degree in PE Pedagogy. He is the Head Track Coach at Vestavia Hills High School and teaches PE at Liberty Park Elementary School. Brett has developed Adapted PE programs in football and track for high schools and has coordinated track events for the Special Olympics.
Through the years, Brett has been a team leader and intern for Young Life, teacher sponsor for FCA, trainer in Evangelism Explosion and Youth Director for his church. He is also certified in CPR and first aid. Brett enjoys playing guitar, singing, surfing, mountain biking and hiking.

ASHLEY FRAZIER - Special Connections Camp Director
Ashley is a senior at the University of Alabama, studying music therapy. Ashley has been a special needs counselor at Camp Briarwood for three years and was the director in 2010 also.
Ashley is an active member of Best Buddies, Habitat for Humanity, and Capstone Music Therapy Association. She is the worship chair at the University of Alabama Wesley Foundation.
Ashley grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Vestavia Hills High School. Her church home in Birmingham is Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. Ashley has a passion for music and hopes to one day be able to use music therapy to work with young adults with disabilities.
